All the first set of badges have nearly sold out! I'll be posting the last few up on etsy this weekend and then thinking about getting the next set sorted and sent for printing! The little sausage dogs will be definitely making an appearance. . .

New Pattern

Inspired by my lino-prints, this is one of a series of all over prints i've been working on this week!

'The Stalls' Saltaire fair today!

Thanks to everyone who came and saw me in Saltaire today! I met some great people and made some good contacts too which is always nice. Below are some quick snaps I took of the stall - and to think I thought I wouldn't have enough work - pah!

Busy weekend!

Papercut flyer!

A rather fiddley papercut flyer i've made for the forthcoming Saviours gig at the Brudenell in Leeds. There'll possibly be some screen printed versions available at the show if I get time to make some...fingers crossed! 

Mothers Day event

I'll be flying solo for my next fair, exhibiting at 'The Stalls' in Saltaire on Mothering Sunday. The stall will be selling cards, badges, books, prints, tags, so there's bound to be something you can treat your mom (or yourself!) too. 

Book Fair weekend!

Book Prints

Books!

So, the Leeds Artist Book-fair is looming - 6th / 7th March - and i'm really busy now trying to make enough items for our stall. Last weekend 'We Have Beaks' (Myself, Sarah Mitchell and Ruth Viqueira) had a meeting about our stall and now I'm really excited about how it's going to look and all the beautiful things the others are gonna make. As soon as we have a nice sunny day I'll take some more photos of what i've made so far so you can see them - for now here's a sneaky peak...

A cute little reduction linoprint I've been working on of late. Part of a series I think I'm going to produce to do with 'transport'. Think hot air balloons, bicycles and definitely more little boats!

Valentines day ideas

Love is in the air. . .well kind of. Been thinking about valentines day cards today, as well as easter designs, paper cuts I want to make and books to print and bind - does my brain ever stop coming up with things for me to do! As much as I keep thinking I should try to incorporate more motifs other than birds in my work I don't seem to be able to help it - they're just so cute!

Alphabet prints

I've been trying to organise myself over the festive break so that when I get back into the studio in the new year I can be as productive as I can. My first project of 2009 will be to screen print some alphabet books in various colourways for the Artist Book Fair in March. I want at least two differently illustrated letters so the clock really is ticking - will hopefully get them onto screen in the next 2 weeks - can't wait to go and do some printing!

Ridiculously exciting news!

A little while ago I posted that I was going to submit some images for consideration for the forthcoming 'Print & Pattern' book, published by Laurence King. Well, this week I am extremely pleased to say that my submission was successful and the book shall be including 3 images of my work alongside a short biography! The thought of having some of my prints in such a publication is very exciting and I look forward to seeing the final article when it comes out; will keep you in the know.

Card printing weekend

I've been busy printing lots of cards this weekend, I've just about finished the next set of cards for Leeds Craft Gallery, 2 cute little robins, and I've also been stitching some new monoprint birthday cards. They'll be available to purchase from Pink Parakeet at Etsy in the next few days. Right, off to do some more cutting and sticking!

Bookmaking!

I've been busy experimenting with book ideas with a view to having a stall at the Contemporary Artists Book Fair in Leeds - March 2009. I know it's a long way off but as I've got loads to do I thought I'd better get started. I've got so many ideas to get down!

Submitting for Print & Pattern book

Today I'm sending off 12 images for consideration for the forthcoming Print & Pattern book - published by Laurence King. I'm ever so excited about this new book, I'm an avid reader of the blog and can't wait to see all the great things from it compiled into one place! Don't know if i'll get in, but you never know do you-you've got to be in it to win it as they say!
